Canvas Worldwide seeks a well-prepared Associate Director, Brand Strategy for this golden opportunity. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Associate Director manages a team in the creation, execution and stewardship of strategic measurement and insights plans/deliverables associated with client campaigns. The good cop to the Director’s bad cop… or the bad cop to the Director’s good cop as dictated by the situation.

Strategic Development

  • Collaborate on media and marketing recommendations using a holistic media approach
  • Develop, implement and maintain strategic and integrated client media plans and marketing recommendations
  • Build plan options that deliver against objectives
  • Focus on details, including having strong data/rationale support recommendations
  • Have an intimate knowledge of the client’s brand and product details
  • Be proactive: Show interest in constantly learning and growing



  • Work collaboratively with multiple groups both internally and externally (client and creative agency)
  • Ensure that multiple groups work seamlessly and provide content that informs and supports strategic direction


Manager & Mentor

  • Represent Canvas Worldwide professionally with clients and industry
  • Direct your team while fostering an environment for growth and learning
  • Ensure that deadlines are met, including managing expectations internally
  • Promote an open and supportive working environment where opinions, views, and ideas are welcome and shared
  • Ensure the team is informed of a broader view of client needs and strategies
  • Deliver accurate monthly budgets in conjunction with the Budget Manager
  • Provide oversight on junior staff to ensure work is 100% error-free


    • Creativity is your middle name
      • Will consider candidates with other middle names if you happen to be a creative person
    • 5-10 years of experience in Media Strategy or Planning
      • Experience in the Financial Services, Banking, and/or Insurance category preferred
    • 5+ years mentoring and developing staff
    • Experience in both online/offline planning and full funnel campaign KPIs
    • You have at least one amazing “for a minute I wasn’t sure if we could pull it off, but we did” story
    • Proven ability to drive projects from start to finish
      • Proven ability to reroute to finish when initial path is impeded by an unforeseen change in direction
    • Past clients love you, miss you, and send you the occasional greeting card
    • Strong presentation skills, ability to communicate to internal managers and clients
    • Skillful ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with flexibility while communicating priorities to direct reports
    • High level proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office products as well as planning tools
    • Custodian of the Canvas Worldwide spirit
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to follow through
    • Extremely detail-oriented and precise
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Ability to read job postings from start to finish
